Running race
Costa Teguise has a network of paths and trails that are ideal for running. Starting at the sports reception, there are different routes to suit all levels, from flat paths to trail routes around the surrounding volcanoes. Maps and GPS of the best routes are available at our sports reception.
In addition, the Lanzarote athletics track, offering training for specialist sportsmen and women, is located just 10 minutes from the resort.

Open water swimming
Playa del Ancla, a small and pleasant cove with white sand and crystal-clear water, is just opposite the resort. It has twin breakwaters which create a natural 150-mete swimming pool, protected from waves and currents, enabling swimmers to enjoy the open water without risk. The rocky seabed is home to an array of fish and the calm waters are a delight for bathers, making it ideal for relaxed swimming and diving.
Cycling
Lanzarote offers a very varied landscape, from plains to extreme peaks, and it has a good road network, including many infrequently used paths that cut across fascinating scenery. All areas of the island can be reached by bicycle from our base in Costa Teguise, especially the Risco de Famara area, which offers one of the highest elevations on the island. The numerous picturesque villages on route are ideal spots for a break.
The modern and spacious Cycling Centre at Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort is located right at the entrance to the hotel.

Diving
For those who want to discover one of the most beautiful seabeds in Europe, the best thing to do is to contact the diving schools at Playa del Jablillo in Costa Teguise. Please enquire at the hotel on arrival.
Courses: Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, the beauty of the marine landscapes that the beautiful island of Lanzarote has to offer is unique and incomparable. There are various scuba diving schools in the area. Ask about booking these services when you arrive at the hotel.

Golf
Apart from sun and beach, you can enjoy a whole range of activities at Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round of golf during their stay at the spectacular Costa Teguise Golf (approx. 3 km away).
A second golf course can be found in Tías (17 km away).
Surfing, Windsurfing and Kitesurfing
The pleasant climate, ideal water temperature and, of course, the wind and waves, make Lanzarote the perfect destination for windsurfers and surfers from all over the world. In summer, when the trade winds reach Lanzarote, Las Cucharas beach becomes one of the world’s best spots for windsurfing.
The waves are at their most powerful from October to March, but conditions are good enough to surf all year round. The biggest waves are usually found on the north, east and west coasts.
For surfing, we recommend Playa de Famara.
Paragliding
For lovers of sports in the sky such as hang gliding or paragliding, this is the perfect island. The direction and strength of the winds must be taken into account when choosing the best place to take flight. The best time for these activities is between November and March. One of the most amazing experiences is flying over Riscos de Famara. Similarly, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the whole island from Costa Teguise.
