In its continuous commitment to experiential innovation, Barceló Hotel Group has developed Happy Minds, a cutting-edge concept of children’s entertainment inspired by the Theory of Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner, called to revolutionize children’s stay at its family hotels.
Happy Minds follows the traditional children's entertainment offerings through a transgressor and differential proposal made up of different themed packs and workshops that promote fun and learning through knowledge to develop the creativity of all children and help them to improve their intelligences.
Happy Minds has a specific entertainment program which cover all age ranges: mini for children 4 to 7 years of age, maxi for boys and girls 8–11 years and teens for the biggest 12 to 15 years old.

The Barceló Hotel Group is delighted to offer unique experiences such as our latest innovative concept: Happy Minds. A programme designed for children aged 4 to 12 years old, inspired by the theory of seven intelligence types. Enjoy a well-earned holiday while your children learn and have fun at the Barcy Club, with a great variety of games and workshops adapted to their preferences, abilities and skills:
Planet & Defenders: “Defenders” promotes good environmental practices and the importance of saving water – our most valuable natural resource, through exploration, adventure and discovering the planet.
Hand & Creators: “Creators” works with manual skills, painting and everything else related to arts and crafts.
Music & Actors: A passion for theatre, music, dance, film and the performing arts.
Lab & Makers: Construction, research and scientific experiments focused on nature, exploring things like solar energy, wind power and gravity.
Mystery & Magicians: We combine magic workshops with robotics, puzzles and Makey Makey – a kit for creating fun inventions.
Circus & Artists: Perfect for versatile, skilful kids who love joking around, laughing and entertaining others.
Barcy & Friends: Have fun with our Barcy mascot and his “Barcy Rap”, rehearsing for the flash mob or in the video editing workshop using our innovative app.
Workshops
Happy Minds by Barceló includes three types of workshops that we want to get to all the children participating in the Barcy Club.
Traditional workshops. Workshops regularly reviewed and updated to achieve maximum learning in a fun way
- Funny vegetables. We discover local vegetables and plants by giving them faces and creating fun characters.
- Experiment experiments. Each afternoon we carry out an experiment, how is a volcano formed? What is the law of gravity?
-Fancy dress workshop. Preparations for the circus show, dressing up and having a good time.
Eco-Workshops. In the eco-workshops children can learn about a fun environment and play the environment at the beginning of the "3Rs": reduce, re-use and recycle.
-The sea of things: stones and branches invade fish and other marine species.
-Art on the island, César Manrique: design and build a wind sculpture with recycled materials.
-The urban garden. Micro gardening. Preparation of decorative cacti with bottle corks.
Techno-workshops. Workshops that use new technology and art for learning.
-Augmented reality. We have created a Barcy app for children to paint and color our mascot to then convert it into 3D.
- Makey. The invention kit of the 21st century. Convert everyday objects into touch panels. Makey opens the door to imagination.
-Editing workshop. Create a flashmob video.
