Paseo de Garay is in a strategic area of Murcia: in front of the Segura River and next to the monumental and artistic center of the city.
The Segura River runs almost at the foot of the hotel, a few steps from the important monumental and historical complex of Murcia. In just a few streets there are numerous historic buildings and charming corners such as the Paseo Mota del Río Segura, the Floridablanca Garden and the gardens and Paseo del Malecón. Taking a walk we can discover such relevant places as the Baroque-style Episcopal Palace of Murcia, the remains of the Arab Wall, the Moneo building and the San Juan de Dios Monumental complex. Also very close are the Murcia Cathedral, the Town Hall, the Balsas Palace and the Museum of Fine Arts.
As for exhibition spaces, the Hydraulic Museum 'Los Molinos del Río Segura' stands out, a very unique building in a spectacular location; the Museum of Science and Water which includes a planetarium, exhibition hall, an interactive games room and a water room; the Palacio Almudí art museum, headquarters of the historical archive and place for temporary exhibitions; the Santa Clara museum and the Verónicas food market, located in a beautiful modernist-style building. Special mention deserves the Real Casino, a building declared a historical-artistic monument in which various cultural events are organized and which is worth visiting.
To enjoy some leisure time there are places such as the Gran Casino Murcia, the Romea Theater, the Bullring, the Neocine Rex or the Francisco Rabal Film Library.
In the nearby streets there are also some recommended restaurants: La Parranda and La Pequena Taberna (both in the Plaza de San Juan), Salzillo, El Pasaje de Zabalburu, El Jardín de los Dragones, Pura cepa, Pasaje de Belluga, El Jumillano or the vegetarian El Girasol are some of them. Another option is to go to Plaza de Las Flores, 10 minutes from the hotel, and discover the fantastic tapas area of the city.
