It is called the island of a thousand names, not only because of the number of different names that it has had, but also because of the infinite adjectives that exist in order to describe it. There are so many reasons to fall in love with it: impressive landscapes, hospitality of its people, delicious (but spicy) food and, of course, exuberant nature.
With over 20 million inhabitants, this island facing the extreme south-east of India is a unique destination worth discovering.
The centre is located in Kandy, the cultural capital. It is home to one of the holiest sites in Buddhism, the great Buddha Tooth Temple, which is attended by hundreds of devotees every day. And for nature lovers, Sri Lanka is lucky enough to visit Yala National Park, where you can spot leopards. Apart from the most touristy beaches, such as Mirissa, there are undeveloped paradises such as Nilaveli Beach, or Pigeon Island Beach, which has one of the most exquisite coral reefs in the area.
Sri Lanka is culture, history, nature, beach, mountains… All at the same time.
