Both hotels also have biomass boilers of 800 kw each, which, thanks to the combustion of olive pits, allow savings of between 10% and 15% in annual gas consumption.
Biomass is one of the most environmentally friendly sources of energy in existence, with zero pollution. Its combustion emits carbon dioxide, but it is the same amount that is emitted in its natural decomposition, not altering the balance of gases in the atmosphere. Among all renewable energies, the olive pit is a source with enormous potential for growth and future projection due to the large agricultural production in Spain and because it leaves very little waste: the burning of a ton of olive pit generates 100 grams of ash, which is then used as fertilizer for the plants.
