The pleasant climate, great water temperature, and of course the wind and waves make Lanzarote an ideal destination for windsurfers and surfers from all over the world. In summer, when the trade winds reach Lanzarote, Las Cucharas Beach becomes one of the world’s best spots for windsurfing.
The most powerful waves occur from October to March, although the rest of the year also offers sufficient conditions to catch waves. The biggest waves are usually found on the north, east and west coasts.
For surfing we recommend Famara Beach.
For lovers of aeronautical sports such as hang gliding or paragliding, this is the perfect island. The direction and strength of the wind must be taken into account when choosing the best place to take flight. The best days are between November and March. Undoubtedly, one of the most amazing experiences is flying over the Riscos de Famara. Teguise Coast also provides incredible views of the whole island.
